EPW - Jules Jurgensen, Copenhagen, very early stemwind, 48mm, 18K gold OF original case, signed gold cuvette, unsigned white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, lever escapement with counterpoise, 16J, wolf's tooth winding, gilt mvt, s#5448 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 56.6 dwt (88.0 g). This very early stemwind example allows turning the crown in only a single direction while winding (crown can not be moved backward for "coast" while winding) but allows setting via the crown in either direction, in terms of function this being the same as the early one-way winding system by Adrien Philippe which is found among early Patek Philippe stemwound production.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running after a sluggish start, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with few small fine scratches, visible portion of barrel with few scratches and small mars; virtually flawless dial with few micro-fine scratches, minuscule edge nick under bezel at 12; excellent hands; case shows light to medium wear, micro-fine scratches, few very small nicks, no dents or dings, reduced engine turning detail with full loss to shoulder; tight replacement bow of differing color, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
